Work from “Everyday Objects”

Here is my piece from the everyday objects show at loft gallery

I started by crocheting copper wire into “cup” mushroom shapes rather than the usual button like shape.

I then dripped  liquid enamel onto these forms so they were partially covered and fired them, this is what they look like after firing.
I love that the copper wire goes all red and purple from oxidising in the kiln.

All these little mushrooms were mounted on a tree branch and displayed on a plinth.

I was disappointed that the mushrooms only moved a bit when people walked near, they normally wobble a lot so emphasising this is what I will aim for in upcoming works, as I like the interaction with the viewer.
